The New England Patriots are moving on to their 3rd straight NFC Championship game and Tom Brady's 8th AFC Championship game appearance in his career. Going into this game with the bad weather it was almost a sure thing that the run game was going to be a factor in this win. Blount and Ridley surely showed their dominance.
For once, Brady isn't going to be the talk of the town. This guy Blount guy has really made a name for himself in New England. Another big name tonight was Jamie Collins. Just a few days after Brandon Spikes was put on the IR for an injury, and being late to a meeting, people really thought that the Patriots were going to have a hard time stopping the run. Donald Brown was someone who's been under the radar with Trent Richardson stealing the name spotlight, but definitely not the stats. They only gave Richardson 3 attempts and he had a combined total of 1 yard. The Patriots have really been dominant up front recently and with guys like the Jones', Siliga, Nink, Collins, and Vellano rocking that line, I can understand why these teams are having issues.
Let's face it, Brady and his receivers were left out of the spotlight but Brady made the passes when he needed to, and let the run game take the lead.
There's no hate for the Colts team. I'm not a trash talker by any means unless someone tries to pull the Spygate/Cheating/Refs card. The Colts are a young, talented football team. Andrew Luck is still growing, and Chuck Pagano has them on the right track. The Colts tried to play the mind games this week by signing Deion Branch which ultimately made him look like a fool, and an a--hole. I also thought T.Y. Hilton was faking the knee injury. It went from his knee after knocking knees with Arrington to his hand, and back to his knee. They knew Hilton was a factor against the Patriots so maybe they thought if the Pats thought he was injured they'd give him some room. Nope. Not working this time.
My prediction for the Colts this off season is that they're gonna pull a Peyton and take away a key receiver from them, and that guy is Eric Decker. Hey, it can happen especially if Irsay wants to overpay.
So next week we either see San Diego at home, or we're shipping West to Denver. It's really impossible to say we'd rather have one team over another because both teams are really hot right now. The Chargers are playing with fire, and the Broncos are...well the Broncos. I'm sure they want revenge as well. Either way we're gonna see some familiar faces whether it be Woodhead, or Welker. I think whoever we play it's gonna be a good game.
Let's celebrate for now Pats fans because we deserve it. Come Monday we got a whole new game on our hands.
Go Pats!
