No need to analyze that game. Patriots were outplayed in every way. I think about a lot of things that happened to us this year, and I can't help but be proud of all we accomplished. It sucks to lose, and it sucks to not go onto the Super Bowl, but it seems like the team we had this year was ready for anything. We were a bunch of tough SOB's this year, and to think we won't have that mentality next year is stupid. I'm ready for this. I'm ready for the off season, and I'm ready the Summer. Patriots fans we have A LOT to be thankful for with this team. Every single year we're in it. There's no hoping because our team just wins, and wins, and wins. Eventually we're going to break in and get to that Super Bowl.
Going into the 2013 season no one thought they'd make it back to the AFC Championship game. Not even some of their fans. They proved everyone wrong once again. If you look at all the players we lost up until this game today, you'd really have to wonder where we could've gone if every stayed.
Welker
Hernandez
Mayo
Adrian Wilson (never played this season)
Wilfork
Kelly
Spikes
Gronkowski
Talib especially in the last game where we really needed him the most. He was injured last year in the AFC Championship game against the Ravens as well.
With that list plus more, that just made it seem like our chances were slimmer.
That being said the list of people who stepped up this year is too big to name. The rookies from Rutgers really had big years with a few picks to their resumes, and even guys like Jamie Collins proved that they were worthy enough to start.
Imagine if our team could stay healthy. I think the Patriots are one WR away from being a high powered offense, but I'll get into that in a few months when the off-season begins. There's a lot of people in the free agent market, and in the draft we could pick up. I know we're not big signings, but I think we have to take some kind of shot if Brady wants to get a Super Bowl ring one more time before he retires. Perhaps a guy like Andre Johnson? You never know.
That being said, it's been a good year. I'm proud of my team all of the way.
Go Pats.
